FAQ
1. What are sound pods used for?
Sound pods are ideal for creating quiet or confidential spaces for small meetings or focused work in open-plan environments, especially in loud spaces like sales offices, warehouses, or public locations that lack privacy. They are also suitable for quick calls and can function as mobile meeting offices.
2. What sizes of sound pods are available?
We offer two types of single-person, two-person, 2–4 person (Grande), 4–6 person (Venti), and 6–8 person (Trenta) pods. The larger one-person pod (Tall) is the most popular, designed to function as a quick phone booth and small private office with enough space for a normal office-sized chair.
3. What does the price of a pod include?
The stated price for pods includes free shipping. As a direct manufacturer, the company prides itself on offering soundproof pods at a reasonable price, which can be approximately 50% lower than similar products on the market, with some models starting around $5,000 while others easily cost $10,000+.
4. Are there discounts for bulk purchases?
Yes, a bulk discount is available for purchasing three or more units.
5. How are the pods delivered?
Pods are delivered disassembled in large crates. Please refer to Delivery tab for more details. They cannot be shipped assembled due to transportation viability and the need for panels to fit through standard doors.
6. Can I install the pod myself, or do you provide installation services?
Installation can be done by the buyer, as the actual process is straightforward. It typically requires two people and takes about 2–3 hours for initial installation, or around 2 hours for subsequent pods. The company can also refer installers to handle the physical movement and assembly of panels, which constitutes about 50% of the work. Customers typically pay the installer directly.
7. What is the estimated cost for installation?
Installation costs vary by location and complexity. For instance, professional installation for an eight-person pod could range from $1,600 to $2,000, while smaller pods typically cost between $600 and $1,000. As a general estimate, you can use about 10%-15% of value of the pod for the installation cost
8. How do the pods receive power?
Electricity for the pods is provided through a simple plug, much like a desktop computer, which powers the entire unit, including the lights and fans and included AC/USB ports. An electrician is not needed for this process. The pods operate on 110 Volts.
9. Do the pods include a locking mechanism?
Pods offer an optional locking mechanism. If you prefer not to have a lock, it can be omitted during installation, allowing the pod to be entered without being locked from the inside.
10. What are the soundproofing specifications of your pods?
The streaming pods are graded as a Class A sound booth, achieving a speech recognition reduction rating of 30.9 average dB reduction (which is 30 dB or above). This level of soundproofing ensures that conversations inside the pod cannot be understood from a normal standing distance outside.
11. Are custom features available for the pods?
While the company focuses on standard models without excessive features, custom features like digital locks and privacy screens (which can switch from clear to private with a button) are available. These are typically custom-made for clients and are not standard on inventory units.
12. Are the pods custom-made to order?
No, the company operates on an inventory-based model, meaning pods are kept in stock rather than custom-made for each order.
13. Are the pods mobile or easy to move?
Yes, pods are designed with wheels for mobility. They have stands that support the unit's weight, which can be hand-twisted to raise the pod, allowing it to be easily pushed around.
14. Where are your product warehouses located for shipping?
The company maintains primary warehouses in La Mirada, California (serving West Coast), secondary warehouses in Edison, New Jersey (serving the East Coast), Joliet, Illinois (serving the Midwest), and satilite warehouse in Hayward, California (serving SF Bay Area).
15. What are the typical delivery times?
Delivery times can vary based on delivery locatin's relative distance to warehouse locations. Delivery typically takes around 4-10 days. Products are kept in stock for quick shipment.
16. What is your warranty policy for the sound pods?
The company offers a 5-year limited warranty on parts from the date of delivery, covering defects in materials and workmanship for most factory-supplied components, including electrical and structural parts. Labor and installation services are not covered. Additionally, there's a 30-day replacement policy for defective parts within the first 30 days, covering associated shipping fees and providing fast-tracked delivery of replacements.
17. What colors are available for the pods?
The pods are primarily available in white. The Single-XL(Tall) model, which is the most popular, also comes in black.
18. Is furniture included with the purchase of a pod?
No, furniture is not included by default with the pods. However, furniture options may be available separately.
19. How does air circulation and temperature control work inside the pod?
The pods are designed to pull air from the surrounding room to maintain temperature equilibrium inside. For additional cooling, extra AC units can be added as an extension.
20. Are there specific considerations for fire safety or sprinkler systems?
Optional openings can be added for sprinkler systems if required. Alternatively, portable fire sprinkler units (such as those from CEASEFIRE, costing around $1695) can be installed within the pods without needing a connection to the building's sprinkler systems and is acceptabed by most cities. Installation of fire suppression (e.g., sprinklers) is the responsibility of the building owner or tenant. Compliance with local fire and building codes must be verified with the local authority having jurisdiction (AHJ)
